Conceptual Floor Plan Development

Building upon the Discovery Insights, the next phase translated vision into form through the development of an initial conceptual floor plan. This first draft thoughtfully explores spatial relationships, flow, and functionality—balancing the client’s dynamic lifestyle with intentional design.  Key zones were defined to support both everyday living and elevated experiences, including flexible guest accommodations, a primary suite designed for comfort and proportion, and an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area that encourages connection and movement. Special consideration was given to multifunctional spaces, indoor-outdoor integration, and personalized elements such as dedicated areas for work, relaxation, and lifestyle needs.  This preliminary plan serves as a foundational framework—allowing for refinement, alignment, and collaboration as the design evolves into a fully realized, cohesive environment.

Visionary Consultation - Discovery Insights

Framed by the skyline of Jupiter, Florida, this project explores the intersection of adventure and refined expression. Influences from national parks, mountain climbing, and skydiving introduce a sense of movement and elevation, while neon-lit nightlife brings a bold, contemporary energy.  Personal elements—most notably a beloved feline companion—add warmth and authenticity. Precedent imagery revealed a strong affinity for modern forms and saturated color, balanced by the need for furnishings thoughtfully scaled to support both comfort and proportion.  Textural inspiration draws from tie-dye, utilitarian textiles, and the organic detailing of natural feathers, creating depth and visual intrigue. The palette embraces a full spectrum of color, grounded in the atmospheric richness of ocean sunsets.

Visionary Consultation - Discovery Insights

Anders and Carina Jensen envisioned a Scandinavian-inspired kitchen centered around simplicity, functionality, and connection to nature. Their lifestyle and daily routines strongly influenced the design direction, with a desire for an open-concept kitchen and dining area that maximizes natural light, visual clarity, and ease of movement throughout the home. As avid morning people, they requested a calm and welcoming gathering space where they could enjoy coffee and breakfast together while overlooking the yard and maintaining a seamless connection to their extended outdoor kitchen.

The overall aesthetic was guided by clean lines, clutter-free living, and a muted natural palette reflective of Scandinavian design principles. Shaker-style oak cabinetry and open shelving were selected to create warmth and understated simplicity, while a large walk-in pantry provides concealed storage to maintain clean visual lines throughout the space.

Although it reduced the overall kitchen footprint, Anders and Carina prioritized the inclusion of a dedicated mudroom entry that supports their active outdoor lifestyle and field-based work. The mudroom was designed as a functional transition space featuring seating and a large stainless utility sink for convenience and durability.  Sustainability, efficiency, and long-term livability were also essential considerations within the design. Energy Star-certified appliances, a pull-down sprayer faucet, and universal design principles were thoughtfully integrated throughout the kitchen to create an environment that is accessible, family-friendly, and designed to support all ages and abilities while balancing elevated simplicity with everyday performance.
